With Tinker Hatfield manning the helm on his first Air Jordan release, it was inevitable that something new was going to be brought to the table.
After the successful introduction of visible air in his 1987 masterpiece, the Air Max 1, it was decided to begin expanding and start integrating the technology into other sporting categories. Debuting on Popular style court inside the Air Revolution in 1988 (also designed by Tinker), the same midsole tooling was transferred over into the Air Jordan III, with more of an emphasis given to the radical new upper design. In Tinker’s sketches for the III he even refers to the new creation as the ‘Air Jordan Revolution’, a nod to it’s predecessor.
The Air Jordan 3 “Court Purple” will take part of Jordan Brand’s holiday 2020 lineup scheduled to launching in November.Dressed in a Black, Cement Grey, White, and Court Purple color scheme. While everyone was Air Jordan 3 Court Purple hoping for a “Lakers” theme, this Air Jordan 3 actually comes in a “Suns” makeup. It features a Black leather base with elephant print overlays paired with Purple around the collar and midsole. Other details includes a border around the Jumpman silhouette in Orange atop a White midsole and Grey rubber outsole.
Made in collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s influential design label, the Fragment Design x Air Jordan 3 Retro SP delivers a minimalist take on the classic silhouette.New Air Jordan Sneakers The sneaker’s tumbled white leather upper is offset by a black leather mudguard and matching black leather overlays at the toe and heel. The latter is stamped with Fragment’s double lightning bolt logo — an insignia that’s repeated appearance on the back heel, visible beneath a translucent overlay with embossed Jumpman branding.
